The End Of Summer
Summer is winding down and fall is just around the corner. It seems to me that there is already a feeling of fall in the air. Some of the leaves are turning yellow and some have fallen to the ground. Soon the trees will be dressed in brilliant yellow, red, and gold leaves. It is cooler in the morning than it was just a few days ago and the grass has to be cut less often now. The kids are back in school and the days are a little bit shorter.
This has been a hot dry summer. We have had near one hundred temperatures and we are in a drought. I love cool weather and I am counting down the days until the autumnal equinox. The whole frost on the pumpkin thing is wonderful. My dogs love for me to rake the leaves into piles. Coca and my son’s dog Lucy play hide and seek in the leaves. They look just like kids when they play. They especially love when I throw the leaves in the air and they run through them as they fall. I do not get much work done but I have a lot of fun.
Yes, I look forward to fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. These are my favorite holidays and fall is my favorite time of the year.

Fall is my favorite too. Something about the crisp air and the fall scents. And, of course, the colors. I love it! But, I’m ok with staying in summer just a little bit longer….
