For the next month in the house glass items continued to break. This included dishes, cups, plates, glasses etc… We saw more of the shadow man and other black shadows that seemed to crawl along the floor. The cat spent more time outside and the dog still refused to enter the house. The foul smell was even worse than before and seemed to get stronger each day.
One day while my two youngest sons were playing in their room the sliding glass door that opened to the side deck fell back into the room almost landing on the boys. Another day a large tree limb fell and again it almost landed on the children. I got the feeling something evil was trying to hurt the children but something good was also there protecting them from harm.
Then we all got sick around the same time. The other family members got over their illness but I didn’t. I lost about thirty pounds and looked like I was starving to death. We all had breathing problems too.
My husband was working in the back yard one afternoon cutting wood for the fireplace when he felt a cold hand move down his back. He instantly felt sick and dropped to his knees on the ground. While he was in this position he heard a snorting sound and then the sound of huge heavy wings flapping near him. He never saw anything that could make the sounds he heard.
A few nights after this I woke from sleep to fell something was not right. I got up and checked on the children but they were all fine. I decided to check each room for a problem and still found nothing wrong. The feeling was so strong that I made the decision to go outside to the two back porches to check the well, and water heater. It was especially scary out there but I put my fear aside and went anyway. It is a good thing I did because the hot water heater was on fire. The entire house could have burned down if something had not woken me that night. I knew then that good and evil both dwelled in the house with us.

My daughter said she would show me the door to the basement that until then I did not we even had. I followed her to the other side of the yard and around the house where she pointed out a small door. Metal bars were inside the door so I could look inside. It was more of a paved crawl space than a basement but the odd thing was it seemed to go further underground than the house space. It was almost like a tunnel. The door which was more like a gate than a door was padlocked and rusty. Just looking inside made my blood turn cold. I could feel the evil coming from under the house. I told my children to stay away from the door and stacked cement blocks in front of it.
We then started to have nightmares about the attic and a monster up there. None of us were sleeping much at night.
One day while I washing dishes at the sink the children were playing on the carport. I could see them from the window over the sick as they played. I smiled at how sweetly they were playing when I suddenly just knew one of the huge wooden ceiling beams of the carport was about to fall. I screamed at the children to run. They listened to me and ran into the yard just seconds before the beam fell. If that beam had fallen on one of them they would have been badly hurt or killed.
Later that day as we were eating dinner a glass angel sitting on the shelf over the fireplace shattered into hundreds of pieces. Minutes later a glass owl also shattered. We could not find any reason for them to break. I could understand if they had fallen off the shelf but they shattered where they were sitting. We had no idea the fun had only just started.

One night while in bed I felt what I thought was the cat jump onto the bed. I reached down the pet him but did not feel him near me. I rose up on my elbow to see where he was thinking he may have cuddled up against my husband. The light from the bathroom gave the room enough light for me to see the entire bed was empty. Other than my husband and myself there was nothing on the bed.
I lay back and tried to go to sleep while telling myself it had to have been my imagination. Just as I was almost asleep the cover began to slide to the floor. Thinking my husband must be pushing it off with his feet, which he sometimes does, I sat up again to pull it back. I pulled the cover back up and tried once more to go to sleep. As soon as I got comfortable the cover goes sliding down. This little game went on for well over an hour and happened many times while we lived in the house.
Another night I went to bed while my husband stayed up to watch the end of a movie. I had only been asleep a few minutes when I felt someone caressing my back. Assuming it was my husband I rolled over and opened my eyes to find there was no one there.
During the night I had a nightmare of a monster that lived in the basement tearing my children to pieces and devouring them. The very next morning, over breakfast, my youngest daughter told me she had a nightmare about a monster in the basement. I then told her about my nightmare and how glad I was we did not have a basement. I think my heart stopped beating when she told me we did have a basement and there was a small door to it on the side of the house. That side of the house was covered with vines and high grass which kept the door hidden until my child found it.

One night while watching TV with my husband I saw movement out of the corner of my eye. Usually when this happened if I turned my head to look straight at the movement there would not be anything there to see. Not this night though; walking from the bathroom door and into our room was an extremely large black shadow. It had human form but no features at all. I could make out arms, legs, head, etc… It seemed to be very tall. We had ceilings that were about seven feet in height and this things head almost reached the ceiling. Its hands reached below where the knee area should have been also.
At the same time I was watching the shadow man my husband was watching a small boy enter the great room where we were sitting. The boy walked into the room, went behind the loveseat and disappears. The little boy appeared to be about six years old.
When I could not see the shadow anymore I turned to my husband only to find him staring at the loveseat. I asked him if he saw something and he proceeded to tell me how he saw the little boy. I then related to him what I had seen. We were both scared and confused. How could we both see something at the same time but see completely different things? After that night the haunting got much worse. The shadow man and the little boy were only an introduction to the horror that was to come.

Not long after we moved into the house on Robertson Road I noticed movement out of the corner of my eye. Black shapes darting here and there. When I looked directly at the area where I thought I had seen movement there would not be anything there. The bad smell got worse too. It was an odor of something dead and rotten. I checked every part of that house except the attic but I did not find anything that could cause the odor. The attic scared the heck out of me and I was not about to go up there.
One night while I was taking a bath I heard knocking sounds coming from the wall beside the tub. Soon everyone in the house was hearing the knocking sounds. I thought it was the pipes and told my husband to check them. He could not find anything wrong with pipes. The knocking sounds became more frequent and louder and could also be heard at all hours. Then we all began to hear a new sound; a wet smacking noise. This noise would always come from behind us as if something was stalking us and licking its lips in anticipation.
It did not take long until we realized we were living in a house from hell. We all were having nightmares, feeling as if we were being watched, and our pets were acting strange. Our cat would sit in the bathroom growling at the top of the corner wall for hours. The dog refused to enter the house at all. Pictures would fly off the walls and glassware on shelves would jump off and break. Lights would go off and on by themselves and weird shapes, fog, and even a creature began showing up on photos taken in the house. Then one night we got proof that we were living in a haunted house.

In 1990 we moved into a house in the east side area of Troup County. The house was a fixer-upper and the landlord made us a deal we could not refuse. They would pay for all the materials and we would do the work. We would not pay any rent for six months and after that the rent would only be $200.00 a month. The house was three bedrooms, with a great room, three porches, and a fireplace. At the time we were living in a two bedroom mobile home so we jumped on the deal. This was the worse deal we ever made in our entire life so far.
The house had the appearance of not being lived in for quite a while even though the owners insisted it had only been vacant for a few weeks. Dust, insects, and even a bird were inside the house. Weeds and vines were overgrown in the yard and a window was broken out and had been replaced with plastic. Inside two whole walls were missing drywall and the ceiling in one bedroom would need to be replaced. We would also need to replace the carpet in all the rooms except the kitchen and bathroom where we would install tile. All in all the work was not too intensive for us and we thought we would enjoy the work. Our current landlord informed us he had sold the mobile home we were living in so we had no choice but to move into the house while we did the renovations.

Our vacation to Panama City Beach, Florida was great. We stayed at the Beach Tower Resort and Motel on Front Beach road. They do not have hair dryers, coffee makers, or ice in the room but they do have coffee down in the lobby and you can buy ice from them. We had a mini refrigerator and a microwave in the room. The balcony was wonderful and we spent a lot of time out there watching the birds and the people.
We went to Zooworld which is really nice. I took photos of the animals and got to feed some of them. The wolves gave me goose bumps they were so beautiful.
We also went to Ripley’s museum which is two stories tall. Two floors of interesting things to see are well worth the price. We had picked up discount tickets at our motel so that helped make the price even better.
I was a little upset that some of the nice restaurants were already closed for the season but most of them were open. We drove into the city to eat at Red Lobster which is always great.
We did some sightseeing, ate too much, got some sun on the beach, and had a relaxing vacation. Who could ask for more?

It is so sad that young girls are constantly made to feel they are fat if they are not skin and bones. They see the diet ads on TV, the models, the actors on TV and in the movies. If they read magazines they will read how such and such has gained weight and is now fat. For example: Eva Longoria Parker gained ten pounds. She is then besieged by reports that she is pregnant. When she gained the weight she went from a 00 to a 0. She then made the statement that “I am not pregnant, I’m just fat”. A size 0 is fat? This is a bad message for young girls who read this magazine article unless they read the small reality check at the bottom. With all the young girls and women in the world with eating disorders the time has come for people to speak out and complain loud and clear that being too skinny is not beautiful. I think a sweet smile and a healthy body are much more beautiful than bones showing through the skin.
It has even affected one of my granddaughters. She lives in another state so I do not get to see her very often. I keep up with her through letters, calls, email, and her Moms My space. After looking at some new photos of her I made the comment she was getting so big. She stiffly asked if that was a compliment. She also wanted to know if I meant big or tall. I thought it was the same thing when talking to an eleven year old but it’s not now. This kid is skinny and is worried about being fat. Another granddaughter was called fat many times at school. With the help of family she is now more worried about eating healthy foods and getting exercise each day. She is not fat and has never been fat. I hope that one day they will realize that even when a person is over weight they are still the same person they would be if they were slim. Beauty takes many forms.

Wall color is the easiest and least expensive way to update a room. Color can make a room appear smaller or larger. Color can also create a mood or add height to a room. It can also make a room feel cool or warm. It is also the most significant design element. Light colors can make small spaces appear much larger but it can also create a sterile look. It is best to use white with a bit of shade added to it to avoid the sterile look.
The most popular paint colors today are; sand, sage, russet, rust red, tan, ivory, beige, pale blue, foam green, white, light brown, and gold.
While red is one of the most popular colors most people use it only as an accent color. Four walls of red color can be a bit too much for most rooms. Unless you want to buy new furniture the colors of your existing sofa and chairs should also be considered. A purple sofa against a red wall will scream for help. I also advise against painting the walls the same color as furniture as they will blend together. Otherwise pick out your color and have fun.

There are four main design styles to choose from and the only rule is to decorate with the style that makes you happy. If you are considering redecoration you can find websites to help you decide your style. First choose your style and then choose your colors. Some colors work better with certain styles.
Modern style involves clean, simple lines with geometric shapes. Use lots of steel, stainless steel, glass and plastic. Any wood pieces should be plain with simple colors. The area should be clutter-free.
Country style is casual, with over stuffed cushioned furniture. Woods used are light in color. Pine is a favorite for country style. Fabrics used in country are plaids, floral, and stripes. Decorate with jars of noodles, or beans and wicker.
Classic style uses pairs for the best look; a pair of chairs, lamps, etc… Woods are dark and rich. Use mahogany, walnut, and oak. Urns and columns are great for classic style as well as antiques.
Eclectic style is a mix of styles and periods. Flea market finds, sconces, and glassware are used in this style.
Remember style is personal taste but you should love your home and always be happy with the result.
