I Missed the Tour
Many people consider Savannah, Georgia to be the most haunted city in the United States. It is certainly the most haunted city in Georgia. Savannah is also the oldest city in Georgia. It is a beautiful city with old architecture, hanging moss, and the gorgeous river area.
The city of Savannah was literally built on its dead. Cemeteries were built on the edge of the settlement. As the colony grew into a port city, the cemeteries were absorbed and homes and businesses built on former burial sites. Some of the dead were moved, some probably were not. The dead under the city include; confederate soldiers, slaves, pirates, voodoo priestesses, and aristocrats. Several companies offer ghost tours off Savannah.
My husband and I went to Savannah a few years ago to see the city and take a ghost tour. Our son became ill and we did not get the chance to take the tour. Two years later we returned to Savannah to take the tour and my husband became ill. We still want to take the tour and one day we will go back and try again.
