An Urge Saved A Life
Last night after eating dinner my son had an urge to go outside. He said it was an intense feeling of having to go. He did not really have any reason to go outside and wanted to get his shower and relax. He was tired after working eleven hours that day and the idea of stretching out on the sofa and watching TV was very appealing. But the urge to go out was too strong so out he went. As he walked down the porch steps he glanced up toward the highway in front of his house and saw his next door neighbors two year old little girl stepping into the road. If that was not bad enough a car was coming down the road at a high rate of speed. As he ran toward the little girl he yelled at her to stop. He reached her just in the nick of time, with her Mom right on his heals. He gave her to her Mom and brushed aside the praise and hero comments. He went back inside his house and almost collapsed into a chair. His heart was racing and he was shaking from head to toe. He is the Father of a four month daughter and knows the love a parent has for their child. He insists he is not a hero and feels he was sent out there to help save the child. I am glad he listened to his feelings. I believe God sent him outside to save that child.
