Christmas Light Fun
I went to the barn and loaded the large tote of Christmas decorations into the wheel barrel and took it to the house. I went back to the barn and loaded another tote just a bit smaller than the first and took that one to the house. I had to make another trip for the two artificial trees; one large and one small. I then made another trip for a box of decorations that I bought last year after Christmas when they were on sale. By the time I got all the decorations into the house I was tired. It was time for a break.
After the break I found most of the limbs for the tree. I had to dig through all the totes and boxes before I found the remaining limbs in the bottom of the last tote. I put the tree together and placed the tree skirt around it in a nice circle. It was then I realized the skirt was dirty. Deciding to wash the skirt I started on putting the strands of lights on the tree. There are eight strands of lights and they were in one big twisted ball. It took me two hours to untangle all the lights. At one time I got the lights twisted around me. I think they were trying to attack me. It was then time for a break.
After that break I turned on the lights and realized that one strand of lights was not working and part of the tree had no lights. Off to the store I went to buy lights. When I got home I replaced the lights and got out the balls, candy canes, stars, etc… I had just bought a box of balls but when I took them out they were missing the hooks. Off to the store I went to buy hooks. When I got home I found a whole box of new hooks I had bought last year.
By now it was time to make dinner and call it a day. Three days later the tree was finally up and the rest of the decorations were placed on display. The house is so beautiful now and I am going to enjoy it until it is time to take it all down. I just hope they don’t attack me again. I can just see the headlines now; woman attacked by Christmas lights.
