A Cultural Misunderstanding

Published by tglisman at 11:23 am under just another day Edit This

I recently wrote a blog that sparked controversy and anger. I want to clear some things up about the intent of the blog.  First of all; I wrote about a person who I had been told was a playboy bunny.  Let me point out that when this person was supposed to have been a bunny was many years ago.  Second thing is; there is a difference between a bunny and a playmate.  A playmate posed nude while a bunny worked in a club and wore a bunny outfit. The outfit covered more that most bathing suits cover today. A bunny never posed nude.  Their only job was to serve drinks to the customers in the club.  It was not much different than working at Hooters is today.  Second point I want to make is they had to be very pretty and have a nice body.  Only the prettiest young women were chosen for the jobs. The person I wrote about is a natural born beauty who did not have to change what God gave her to be beautiful.  She has never enhanced her body with surgery to be beautiful.  She is 100 percent a lady.  My blog was not to demean her.  If someone thought I had at one time been a bunny I would have been flattered.  I offer an apology to her if I offended her in any way.  I offer an apology to all who were hurt and offended by my blog. I admired her for how she always looked.  My blog was supposed to show how love can be strange and blind.  How my husband loves me no matter how I look, dress, or smell.  How a person looks is only a very small part of love.  I guess I did not make my point clear. I used bad judgment when I wrote the blog.

Even though it may have seemed like I was judging this person, I was not.  I am not that kind of person.  I look inside people to their heart instead of what is on the outside.  I have been judged harshly by some for the friends I have.  One of my friends owns a strip club, one is an arson investigator, and one is with the GBI, while another is in the Mafia.  I have friends who are with the sheriffs department, police department, and some who have been in prison.  I have friends who are Christian, Moslems, Wicca, atheists, pagan, Odem followers, and other religions.  Heck one of my friends is a vampire.   My friends come in all colors and from all countries.  I would rather be friends with someone who has been in jail than someone who thinks they are better than the rest of us.  We all stumble through life making mistakes for none of us are perfect.  Least of all me.

If I am reading this right, I believe someone was offended for being mistakenly called a Playboy Bunny. First of all I have two friends that married Playboy Bunnies and they were the nicest, sweetest Ladies you would ever want to meet. One of my friends came from a well off family that owned several businesses in our area and I went to school with him. The other friend was a little closer, I worked with him and me and my family visited his home frequently. Believe me if I was a woman and someone called me a Playboy Bunny, I would lap it up like a St. Bernard licking up Bourbon. The next thing I see and feel here is that you are either Family or Good Friends, Please laugh this off, forget it ever happened and just go on Loving each other. We never know what Tomorrow might bring !!!!! But Hopefully it is Good. May God Bless All of You Abundantly.

    Sincerely, Fixerupper
